Hi! I am a mathematics and environmental studies major at the University of Virginia. I have worked with kids at a summer camp and tutoring center for the past six years, where I taught math and English classes on a daily basis. I also spent a lot of time helping my friends complete their math homework and edit essays, using my skills in AP Calculus BC and AP Language and Composition and my desire to help others. As such, I’ve tailored math problems and personalized my teaching methods to work with many students at different academic levels. When I was younger, math was my least favorite subject because I could not understand it, but I grew to love it after being in classes with enthusiastic and engaging teachers whose passion for the subject inspired me to learn eagerly. My goal is to give my students the same experience I had so that they may fully understand concepts, not memorize how to solve problems.
