You should take a break!

Often, students will sit down and do a marathon of exhausting work without stopping. Not only can this be harmful to one’s health, it can actually be counterproductive!
It is important for students to “check in” with the status of their work and how they are feeling. Perhaps they keep making silly mistakes or get stuck on easy problems because they’ve been working for too long. Perhaps they are taking a long time to finish a worksheet because they are tired. Or, maybe they are not working accurately or enthusiastically because they are feeling uninspired.
In all of these scenarios, a great solution is simply to take a BREAK! Here are some structured ideas to make a short break as meaningful and effective as possible:
- Grab a glass of cold water.
- Go outside and walk a lap around the neighborhood.
- Do ten jumping jacks.
- Get a pep talk, either from you or from themselves!
- Eat a healthy snack.
- Talk to a friend.
- Meditate.
- Stretch.
- Do something fun!
After taking a short break, your child will feel more refreshed physically, and more positive mentally! Our tutors are trained to know when your child needs a mental refresher to make the most of our lesson. You can browse our talented team on our home page, under the subjects tab!
